Hi! My name is Julia Mattie and I teach 4th grade in the Brentwood School District. This is my 4th year in 4th grade, and my 5th year overall. My first year teaching I taught Kindergarten in the Francis Howell School District. I have a bearded dragon as my class pet - his name is Ghost and he is 3 years old! The kids love him - he comes out at morning meeting to crawl around and is featured in my school yearbook pictures. For the past two years, I have run the morning announcements for my school. Last year, we went live on YouTube every morning and teachers watched on their Smartboards in real time. This year, we pre-record videos and upload to YouTube for teachers to show their class at their discretion. I "hire" a group of 5th graders to help with announcements throughout the year.
